Dear Parents/Families,
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kristin Salazar and I am so excited to be your child’s first grade teacher! This will be my 11th year teaching at Big Hollow. I taught second grade for five years at Big Hollow Elementary and this will be my sixth year teaching first grade at Big Hollow Primary.
I absolutely love teaching and I put my heart and soul into everything I do and teach. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with my degree in Elementary Education. I also received my Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy from Benedictine University. I am honored to teach your child and provide them a safe and nurturing environment where learning is meaningful, collaborative, and engaging! I understand that every child is different, every child learns differently, and at a different pace. It is my goal for your child to reach their fullest potential!
Some of my hobbies include shopping, bike riding, doing yoga, watching movies, cooking, reading, and spending time with my family. My husband John and I have a one year old daughter Alyssa and she is my world! I love watching her learn and grow and she makes me so proud every day.
Please do not hesitate to contact me about anything! I am looking forward to an amazing school year!
Kristin Salazar
